SMS Messaging Policy

1. Who we are

LocalLine is provided by Insight Tracking AS in Oslo, Norway. We sell US and Canadian phone numbers to individuals and small businesses. Questions about this page can go to support@getlocalline.com.

2. How texting works on LocalLine

Our customers buy a US or Canadian phone number from us. Someone who has that number can send it a text message.

Text messages are not forwarded to our customer's personal phone. They appear in the LocalLine web app, where our customer reads them and replies. The reply is sent back from the LocalLine number.

Every conversation is between two people. There are no group messages and no automated messages.

3. How consent works

End users initiate contact by texting the customer's LocalLine number. The customer replies to these inbound messages through the LocalLine web app. There is no bulk messaging, marketing, or outreach to people who have not messaged first. All conversations are one-to-one and user-initiated.

In other words, if you receive a text from a LocalLine number, it is because you texted that number first, or because you already know the person and gave them your number.

4. What we do not do

• We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
• We do not send bulk or mass messages.
• We do not buy, rent, or use purchased phone number lists.
• We do not allow customers to message people who have not contacted them.
• We do not send automated or scheduled campaigns.

Using a LocalLine number for any of the above is a breach of our Terms of Service, and we will close accounts that do it.

5. Message frequency

Message frequency varies. Because every conversation is started by the person texting in, the number of messages depends entirely on that conversation. Most are a handful of messages back and forth.

6. Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving text messages, depending on your plan. LocalLine does not control those charges.

Our own customers pay us for their LocalLine number and for the messages they send. That is separate from anything your carrier charges you.

7. How to stop receiving messages

Reply STOP to any message from a LocalLine number. You will get one confirmation, and that number will not be able to text you again.

If you change your mind, reply START to the same number to begin receiving messages again.

Reply HELP for information about the number that messaged you.

Opting out applies to text messages. It does not block phone calls.

8. Your mobile number and your privacy

We do not share or sell mobile phone numbers, or any data collected through text messaging, to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

We share mobile numbers only with the telecommunications providers who deliver the messages, and only so the messages can be sent and received. No consent to receive text messages is shared with anyone else.

Message content and phone numbers are stored so our customer can read and reply to their conversations. Our full Privacy Policy explains what else we collect and how long we keep it.

9. Reporting a problem

If you receive an unwanted message from a LocalLine number, reply STOP to end it. You can also report it to us at support@getlocalline.com and we will investigate. Include the number that messaged you if you can.

10. Changes to this page

We may update this page as our service or the rules around text messaging change. If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top.
